Here you will find a wealth of information on Arachnoiditis. I have included a couple of specific articles and sites which are not Arachnoiditis based but closely related. I have also thrown a stranger or two into the mix to break the monotony of a single subject journey of exploration.

Expect to return and find many more links to sites with a variety of interests, from "Ancient Text Resources" to "Sporting Groups in the Western Isles", in amongst this eclectic mix will be "Chronic Pain", "Drugs", "Myelography" and many others linked directly to Arachnoiditis.

"Arachnoiditis Sufferers Action and Monitoring Society"
From the excellent New Zealand site, a link to an article on ARC and Depression by Dr Wendy Anderson MD. Since chronic pain and depression are inextricably linked I have singled out this page and another further down for special attention.

Adhesive Arachnoiditis Sufferers Queensland Australia
Superb site for sufferers to join in or get support and information from.

Dr. Sarah Andreae-Jones MB BS (Smith)
Paper on Arachnoiditis -

A wealth of detail easily understood by most non-medically qualified folk. This paper comes top of my list of documents which should be read by all sufferers. It is through this article that a great number of people get to find out what has been causing them pain.

The Arachnoiditis Hub from Knowdeep Database
Another good American site to explore for information about Arachnoiditis.

The Arachnoiditis Trust Site
The
Trust is no more but has been replaced(?) by ANPIS who were formed in Spring 2005. They are a support group for people who suffer from arachnoiditis and for those who are carers.

Arachnoiditis Net (Site is closed temporarily but keep checking)
Originating in California this well laid out site demonstrates the growth in world wide indignation of victims of this, mainly, iatrogenically generated disease.

Arachnoiditis Sufferers Action and Monitoring Society (ASAMS)
Get away from the hysteria and patriotic fervour for a while and experience the contents of this well balanced site, which does away with "Doctor
Bashing" in favour of a less aggressive view of the facts.

Dr Charles Burton
One of the world's leading experts on Arachnoiditis and he pulls no punches, hitting home relentlessly in his campaign to bring this issue to the forefront of public attention.

He advocates the only real solution to iatrogenically caused illnesses - a knowledgeable customer base which does not assume "whitecoat" infallibility but intelligently asks the questions and demands answers.

Professor Antonio Aldrete
Another physician on the side of the angels and a leading Anaestheologist to boot. It was a copy of his book, lent to the head of my Pain Clinic, which changed that good man's view of my Neurosurgeon's highly negative report. This site will soon be publishing a monthly newsletter for sufferers.

Dutch Organisation of Victims of Medical Contrast Media.
So it is not just the English speaking world which has been "blessed" with the results of the swift assumption of positive results from a tiny medical study. You will find a Copernic 2001 (http://www.copernic.com/index.html) translation tool handy here.

Medline Plus on Spinal Cord Diseases.
I have always held the view that one should not assume. Here's your chance to put Arachnoiditis aside and go visit some other causes of back pain, you never know, careful reading may suggest an alternative diagnosis of a treatable condition which you can explore with your physician.

Medscape.com
This is a great place for exploration of the medical world. It has a great search engine which can show you the relevant papers which reveal the rise in the number of Arachnoiditis cases and the subsequent growth in research interest.
If the expansion of iatrogenically caused Arachnoiditis does not exist, as many physicians are wont to inform us, then why is so much research going into it. Go on - type "arachnoiditis" into the search engine.

This is a huge site so prepare for an all day sitting with sandwiches and a mug or two of your favourite hot beverage.
